Age Requirements:
- Infants must be six weeks old
to be accepted into the infant program.
- Children will move into the
toddler program when they are developmentally ready.
- For the the 3-4 year old program,
the child must be two years and nine months, and developmentally ready,
by September or 3-years by January 1 of the following year.
- Once a child reaches 5 years
old and is Kindergarten age, he/she is not eligible for the program.
If because of birthday, the child reached 5 years old but missed
the line to enter Kindergarten on our Director's recommendation,
this child could be eligible for our program.
Program Model
Saint Paul's Child Care Center is a five day a week, full time program.
We are open and able to receive children starting at 7:30 AM and children
must be picked-up by 5:30 PM. Parents are able to utilize these hours
to suit their child care needs.
There
are two recesses: A Christmas break and a week-long summer break
in July. (See
below for our 2008/2009
Calendar)
- Winter Weather Closing
Policy: We follow Rye Brook (Blind Brok) Schools in the matter of Bad Weather closings,
and will close if Rye Brook (Blind Brook) Schools close. In the event Rye Brook (Blind Brook)
indicates a "delayed opening," we will do the same.
However in this event, we encourage our parents to keep their
children at home if at all possible. The reason is: if road conditions
prevent some of our staff from reaching the Center, we may have
greatly reduced staff levels that day.
In the event of inclement weather,
please monitor one of the following stations:
Westchester
Stations
WFAS (1230 AM and 103.9 FM)
WVOX (1460 AM)
Fairfield Station (Greenwich)
WGCH (1490 AM)

Some comments about the logic of Winter Weather Closings:
This is always an inconvenience to our parents, and
when it must be invoked we always feel very apologetic. Nevertheless,
bad weather closings are there for good reasons.
Public Schools, as well as Child Care Centers, understand that
- Certain conditions could
make walking/driving hazardous, and do not want to expose the
children or their parents to risk while coming or going, and
- There is always the possibility
that a number of teachers living at a distance will be unable
to come in. This can drop the teacher/student ratio sharply,
and result in potential safety issues.
We, as well as all other Child Care
Centers and the Public/Private School systems, care deeply about
our students. We are therefore honor-bound to take these steps
for the children's protection, despite the obvious matter that
it creates an unplanned inconvenience for our parents.
Application Fee:
- The initial fee is $100 and
is non-refundable. When the registration card and fee are received,
your child is on our list for class placement.
- All checks to be made out to
"St
Paul's Child Care Center."
Tuition:
One month's deposit is
payable at the time of enrollment. Please note the tuition changes
listed below are valid for all new applicants signing contracts
after September 1, 2008. Rates usually change in September so always inquire
as to the most current tuitions.
- Infants $1,400/month
- Toddler $1,325/month
- Pre-School $1,200/month
The Center is open for 50 of
the 52 weeks of the year. These two breaks allows us to give
our staff vacation time, and to have the Center rugs completely
cleaned and thoroughly dried before classes resume. Tuition is
calculated on only the 50 weeks, but is spread out over the year
in 12 equal monthly installments.
Meals:
- All food for infants must be
brought with the child.
- Toddlers and 3-4 year olds
2 snacks/day is included in the Tuition Fee, but children must
bring a fully prepared lunch.
- Most children will have had
their breakfast before
coming to St. Paul's but, if not, they
are welcome to bring that as well.
- Microwaves and a Crock Pot are
available for reheating food.
Clothing and Toileting and Diaper Supplies
- We ask that all children
keep a complete set of clothing at the Center.
- All children attending
the preschool program must be toilet trained.
- Infants and toddlers
requiring diapers must bring a supply of diapers and related wipes
and creams.
Naps and Supplies Needing Laundering
- A Nap time (as well as "quiet
times") is required in all-day programs so your child
will be resting for one and one-half hours each day.
- Parents
must send a large towel or small blanket to use on the cot your
child is assigned. These towels or blankets must be taken home
each Friday, washed, and returned Monday of each week.
- Infants
must bring a supply of crib sheets, blankets, baby towels, wash cloths
and bibs. These will be sent home for laundering as needed.
*Additional information will be supplied
in the Application Packet regarding Sick Children, Other Medical Matters,
Cancellations, etc.
Outdoor Playtimes
- Outdoor Times (weather
permitting) are also part of the daily
routine for appropriate age groups.
- It is very important
that all of the age groups get outside time daily for fresh air and gross
motor
development.
- The mobile children
use our playground and the younger children go for buggy rides.
